SMART Zambia has commenced the implementation of a National Contact Center, that will provide service support and enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of public service.

Speaking when he Officially opened the training of members of staff that will be managing the National contact center, SMART Zambia National Coordinator, Dr. Martine Mtonga said that the process of procuring the Contact Center was almost complete and that the training was part of the activities that had been lined up in the implementation process.

He further said that the implementation of the National Contact Center will build confidence in the utilization of all ICT services by Government workers and the general public as support shall be provided on a 24/7 basis.

Dr. Mtonga also urged the participants to take the training seriously as they will be the first point of contact in providing service support to MPSAs and the general public on ICT related implementations, “the responsibility falling on the national contact center team is immense and hence need for participants to take this programme seriously and with much dedication”.

Also Present during the Official opening was the Copperbelt Permanent Secretary, Mr.  Bright, Nundwe who commended SMART Zambia on the initiative taken in implementing the National Contact Center as this would enable the general public and Government workers have the ability to contact the government anywhere at any time when faced with challenges on various e-services deployed
