The World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum, held in Xi’an, China, from July 21–22, 2026, brought together global leaders, innovators, and technology experts from across the world, with special focus on empowering developing countries through digital transformation.

‎Under the theme “Pooling Intelligence on the Silk Road,” the forum explored opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and the development of digital infrastructure to bridge the global digital divide.

‎National Coordinator for SMART Zambia Institute, Mr. Percy Chinyama, who attended the forum, highlighted the importance of such platforms in helping developing nations strengthen their digital infrastructure and adopt technologies that enable them to compete at the same level as leading countries.

‎As the world moves towards an increasingly digital future, collaboration and knowledge sharing remain key in ensuring that no country is left behind.
