‎NDOLA, July 17th 2026 – The National Coordinator for the National Disaster Risk Management Division (NDRMD), formerly the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) , Mr Norman Chipakupaku, has commended the e-Government Division (SMART Zambia Institute) and IHM Southern Africa for the successful deployment the Govlink 4G network and an innovative Health Dashboard at three major health institutions on the Copperbelt province.

‎The Health Dashboard, which is now operational at Kitwe Teaching Hospital, Arthur Davison Hospital, and Ndola Teaching Hospital, is being utilised for real-time analytics on key performance indicators including revenue collection, pharmaceuticals dispensed, patient attendance, bed occupancy rates, and other essential health metrics.

‎Mr Chipakupaku made the remarks during a walkthrough assessment of the Dashboard at Arthur Davison Hospital in Ndola, where he observed firsthand how the digital tool is enhancing data visibility and informed decision-making within the health sector.

‎He noted that reliable connectivity is critical during emergency planning, and GovLink with the health dashboard will enhance disaster response coordination.
‎
‎”The health dashboard align with Government’s broader vision of leveraging technology to improve service delivery across all sectors,” he said.
‎
‎He thanked the e-Government Division and IHM Southern Africa for their technical support and commitment to modernising Zambia’s health information systems.

‎Meanwhile, Arthur Davison Hospital Medical Superintendent, Dr Bwendo Nduna, has described the Health Dashboard as a game changer, citing its profound impact on health administration.
‎
‎”The Health Dashboard has revolutionised access to health information and data at the click of a button, significantly reducing manual paperwork and delays in accessing critical reports,” she said.

‎”The Health Dashboard has greatly enhanced evidence-based planning, enabling hospital management to make timely and data-driven decisions that ultimately improve patient care and resource allocation.”

‎Dr Nduna expressed optimism that the continued roll-out of such digital solutions will strengthen the country’s health system resilience and contribute to the attainment of universal health coverage.
