LUSAKA, May 27th 2026 – MTN Zambia yesterday launched the first 5G Penta Band Indoor Solution in Africa, a major milestone in the country’s digital transformation journey.

SMART Zambia Institute National Coordinator Mr. Percy Chinyama was on hand to provide support to MTN, underscoring government’s commitment to next-generation connectivity.

‎The 5G Penta Band Indoor Solution is designed to address indoor connectivity challenges and delivers enhanced network coverage, faster speeds, lower latency, and improved Quality of Service across office buildings, shopping malls, hospitals, hotels, and residential complexes.

‎Speaking during the launch, MTN Zambia Chief Technology Officer Mr. Thomas Ngoma highlighted that the innovation aligns with the Government’s digital transformation agenda under the 8th National Development Plan and will help drive economic growth, smart infrastructure, and innovation across sectors.
