E-GOVERNMENT BOOSTS SERVICE DELIVERY IN POST OFFICES

Ndola, June 14th, 2024, SZI…Postmaster General Mr Norman Maule says the deployment of Starlink Kits by SMART Zambia Institute has boosted service delivery in Post Offices in the country.

The Postmaster General said this during an exclusive interview with ZANIS in Ndola barely a few weeks after the deployment of Starlink Kits to Kawambwa district and the launch of the Digital Transformation Centres in Luapula Province.

“The e-Government Division, Smart Zambia Institute, has made a significant impact in Kawambwa district and Luapula province’” he said.

“Just weeks after launching Starlink Internet Kits and Digital Transformation Centers, post office services have seen a remarkable boost.”

The Postmaster General Mr Norman Maule credits the Starlink internet kits for this enhancement. “Internet services are vital for global money transfers and have increased ZAMPOST’s capability to deliver services nationwide.

The deployment of Starlink Internet Kits by Smart Zambia Institute has bridged the gap in internet access,” he said.

Mr Maule explained that government’s transition to electronic platforms like ZAMPORTAL has also played a crucial role.

“This has enabled ZAMPOST to deliver services more efficiently and effectively, ” he said.

ZAMPORTAL offers 360 services, making it a one-stop platform for citizens’ needs.

He further explained that recognizing the limitations in remote areas ZAMPOST partnered with Smart Zambia Institute to establish Digital Transformation Centers (DTCs) in all Post Offices.

“This initiative, “BOMA PA FUPI,” aims to bring government services closer to citizens,” he said.

By leveraging technology, the government is reducing barriers to access and promoting inclusive development.

The partnership between ZAMPOST and Smart Zambia Institute is a testament to the government’s commitment to improving public services through technology.
