Kabwe, May 31st, 2024, SZI…….The SMART Zambia Institute (e-Government Division) has successfully digitized payment systems and other services in Central Province, transforming the agriculture sector!
The Acting Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Cabinet Affairs, Sibeso Sefulo, has commended the innovative partnership between SMART Zambia Institute and the Ministry of Agriculture – PACO.
“The partnership is a shining example of how digital technologies can improve the lives of smallholder farmers and promote sustainable agriculture practices.”
– 162,711 farmers benefited from the e-voucher program
– 100% deposits and successful input redemption
– Digitization reduced transaction costs and increased efficiency
– Loan scheme: Farmers can access loans directly through the e-voucher system, further empowering them to improve their yields and livelihoods!
The partnership is expected to scale up to other provinces, revolutionizing the agriculture sector nationwide!
