PLGO COMMENDS SMART ZAMBIA

The Provincial Local Government Officer, Mr. Mainza Dawa Sikaale, has commended SMART Zambia for the training of employees from 15 local authorities of Southern province on the Government Service Bus (GSB) and shared services, calling it a pivotal training workshop.Mr. Sikaale underscored the event as a significant milestone in harnessing technology to propel local governance into a new era of efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency.
“Today, we gather to harness the power of technology and propel our local governance into a new era,” he stated.

ZAMBIA TACKLES ONLINE SCAMS

Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Hon. Jack J. Mwiimbu, recently addressed Parliament on measures to combat online scams.
He highlighted the rise in scams targeting citizens, particularly youth and elderly, Government Agencies, Banks, And Delivery Companies through digital platforms.
The Minister reported 1,124 online scams between 2023 and 2024, resulting in losses of over K38,948,000, of which property valued at k12,407,990 has been recovered. Investigations have led to 117 convictions.

GSB SENSITIZATION IN NORTH WESTERN PROVINCE

The Electronic Government Division (SMART Zambia) North Western Provincial team, led by Senior ICT Officer Mr Ezra Kachasa, has successfully conducted Government Service Bus (GSB) sensitization workshops in Manyinga and Kabompo districts.The workshops are aimed at empowering teachers and citizens with the skills to access government services online, promoting digital inclusion and ease of access to public services.

SMART ZAMBIA CONDUCTS SITE SURVEY AT NEW CANCER HOSPITAL

In a significant step towards integrating technology into healthcare, the E-Government Division (SMART Zambia Institute) copperbelt provincial team conducted a site survey at the new cancer hospital along Ndola-Kitwe road on Tuesday.The survey marks the beginning of installing the Government Wide Area Network (GWAN) at the hospital, which is currently under construction.

SECOND COHORT ON GSB AND SHARED SERVICES TRAINING COMMENCES

SMART Zambia Institute has commenced the second round of training on the Government Service Bus (GSB) and shared services for 15 local authorities in Southern Province.
The training, which started yesterday, aims to enhance digital governance and public service delivery.
Employees from Monze, Itezhi-Tezhi, Chikanta, and 12 other local authorities are participating.

SMART ZAMBIA RESTORES CRITICAL INTERNET CONNECTIVITY AT SOLWEZI GENERAL HOSPITAL

The Electronic Government Division (SMART Zambia) North Western Provincial team has successfully restored internet connectivity to the Government Wide Area Network (GWAN) at Solwezi General Hospital.
The hospital’s internet connection, which had been down for two months, is now fully operational following swift intervention by SMART Zambia’s technical team.

THE GWAN TRAINING FOR LOCAL AUTHORITIES IN LIVINGSTONE INTENSIFIES

The Electronic Government Division (SMART Zambia Institute) is conducting a training program in Livingstone for local authority officers in Southern Province on the Government Wide Area Network (GWAN) and shared services.

The training, which began on Monday, October 14, 2024, aims to enable officers to fully utilize shared services with internet connectivity.
