DIGITIZATION OF MINES TO ENHANCE ACCOUNTABILITY

Lusaka, July 9th, 2024 – Smart Zambia National Coordinator, Mr. Percy Chinyama, has emphasized the importance of digitizing government institutions, particularly the Ministry of Mines. Mr. Chinyama explained that the goal is to enhance service delivery, provide citizens with easy access to information on mining, facilitate the application for mining licenses, and most importantly, eliminate corruption and seal financial loopholes.

Lusaka, July 9th, 2024- SMART Zambia National Coordinator Percy Chinyama announced that the government plans to digitize 1,000 health facilities in all 10 provinces by the end of the year.

Mr. Chinyama stated that the e-Government division has so far digitized 400 health facilities in 20 districts. He explained that the digitization of health facilities using the Smart Care Pro system will ensure record integration across all healthcare facilities and reduce patient waiting times. Additionally, digitizing health facilities will facilitate seamless sharing of health records across the network.

Lusaka, July 8th 2024, The E-Government Division (SMART Zambia Institute) has developed the Citizens Support Services Portal as a feedback mechanism for citizens to communicate with the government regarding the services provided by various institutions.

SMART Zambia Principal Server Engineer, Ms. Mumba Chiteme, explained that this innovative platform will enable citizens to report issues, request assistance, and track the status of their requests related to government services.
